Black Caps Enjoy 100th Test Win Over India

February 26, 2020 by

90 years after making their debut, and 64 after achieving their first-ever win, New Zealand’s Black Caps Cricket team have achieved a century of Test Triumphs. Two of our most prominent bowlers were behind the 10-wicket win we managed over India’s Men in Blue on February the 24th, 2020.

As far as the previous wins are concerned, there were few more impressive than this one was!

India walked onto the pitch as the undisputed No. 1 ranked team in the world, one that had ruled all hopefuls in the Test Championship to claim a record-breaking series of victories over seven games in succession. All by margins so emphatic that it was hard to doubt their dominance.

And yet, their trip to New Zealand left the juggernauts with a bitter taste in their mouths after a demoralising defeat. We have enjoyed 12 consecutive Test wins at home and the Black Caps’ incredible win over the No.1 team in the world is a testament as to how far we have come over the past few years.

In 2002 New Zealand’s Cricket team reached the 50-Test Victory milestone, 72 years after they made their first entrance into this game format. Now, just 18 years later, they have doubled that total, achieving 32 victories in the past decade alone.

When we’re playing at home even the finest team in the world struggle against our players’ mastery over game conditions, a fact quite competently proved by Tim Southee and Trent Boult.
